quick question, i am considering getting an "in home infrared sauna"...most say the max temp is 140 (i saw a few at 150 max). You state that the temp should be 170-180 for max benefits. Is getting an in home sauna that ends up being 130-140 max even worth it?
It's not entirely clear if infrared saunas come with the same benefits as those with a conventional heater.
The most compelling research suggests that 170+ temps come with the best results for longevity. Additionally, conventional heaters heat the air which heats the body indirectly vs infrared heaters which heat the body directly. There is some thought that the indirect heat process from a conventional heater is also more effective for longevity benefits.
If possible, I'd try to find an at home sauna with a conventional heater.
